A birthday cake

For my little girl's 3rd birthday, she decided she wanted a cupcake birthday cake. Here is the creation I came up with.

After many taste tests, I settled on white chocolate cupcakes. They were beyond delish!

Because my daughter is such a girly girl, the frosting had to be pink.

Once the cupcakes were frosted and stacked, I used candy coated sunflower seeds as a nice decorative touch.

And finally, adding the "candles" made from cookies and orange twizzlers.

It's not overly fancy, but it turned out really cute and tasted fantastic!

My First Attempt at Decorating Easter Cupcakes.

It wasn't a complete disaster, however, there is definite room for improvement.

ok, these are in no way perfect, I was just too excited to try them to plan my time a little better. But here goes:

Here are the vanilla cupcakes right out of the oven:

Then, I cut the graham crackers into "eggs" and fixed them to the top of the cupcakes with frosting.

After I decorated the eggs:

The finishing touches added. I will never use store bought frosting again though, it wasn't thick enough to decorate with properly for the "grass" underneath the eggs.

Overall, they turned out ok. I am disappointed that I had crappy frosting, but my lesson is learned and I will be making my own from now on.

So I'm starting a whole new blog

Just to share my adventures.

I am constantly wanting to learn new creative skills, like cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting. Well, ok, some of this I already do, but I like to take on new projects.

So here we go. Just keep in mind, I am new to some of these skills, so it might take me a while to get the skills even remotely close. But part of the fun of this for me, is sharing my progress with others :)

So sit back, enjoy the ride, and feel free to laugh if my final product still needs a little work. I do :)
